How it all Started…

My beginning is like most crocheters “I learned how to crochet from my Grandmother.”

(“circa 1990, 30 years +3 years working my brand)

That’s how I like to reference my “skill/ ability” level

This is my Grandmother, taken in 1953 in front of the High School that once stood on the hillside of Lambertville, NJ. She was in 8th grade in this picture. About the age of my oldest daughter now. And she “walked to school, up hill both ways!”

Even though she is no longer with us; her Wisdom, Humor and Love are carried on everyday. I’ve taken the reigns of passing on the family recipes and teaching my girls the same way she taught me and my cousins.

My love for finding Ancestors and working on Genealogy is because of her. It’s like going on a Treasure Hunt and finding clues. I’ve been doing a lot of this lately because we are having a Family Reunion and I’ve been going through the boxes of Genealogy my Grandmother bequeathed me. As well as scanning photo albums that go back to the mid 1800’s.

I have this written sign on my cork board next to my desk to make me smile; but it’s actually a “portal” to my best memories as a kid. That gives me the Dopamine I need to get things done.

I could write for hours on the subject of my Grandmother but for now I’ll leave this the end of my very first Blog post.

Stay Weird!
